Cole Slaw is one of the most popular of current trending meals on earth. It’s simple, it’s fast, it tastes yummy. It is enjoyed by millions daily. Cole Slaw is something which I’ve loved my whole life. They are fine and they look fantastic.
When people think of coleslaw, they think of that bowl of soggy, shredded cabbage sitting at the end of the picnic table. Whisk together mayonnaise, vinegar, dijon mustard, sugar, and celery seed. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

This coleslaw is a great side dish to bring to summer potlucks, and pairs well with recipes like Slow Cooker Pulled Pork, tacos (especially fish tacos), lunch wraps with deli meat, hot dogs, and more. I don't recommend it, as raw cabbage does not freeze well. Cole Slaw is the quintessential side dish for the summer.
Steps to make Cole Slaw:
- In a large bowl, toss cabbage with additional vegetables.
- In a small bowl, blend vinegar and mayonnaise.
- Pour vinegar mixture over cabbage and toss until coated.
- Add mayonnaise to taste, approximately 1 1/2 cups.
We love it so much we already have two versions on the site! Both are copycats, one is KFC Coleslaw (Copycat) and the second is my personal favorite unique cole slaw, Tony Roma's Coleslaw with celery seeds. What to serve with ColeSlaw: If the coleslaw seems dry, add a little more of the dressing. Eat right away or let it sit in the refrigerator for about an hour to let the flavors mingle and the cabbage to soften. Cabbage: Use green cabbage, red cabbage, savoy cabbage or Napa cabbage.
