- Add the rinsed potatoes, 1 1/4 cups of milk, water and 1tsp salt to the pot and stir to combine. Bring to a boil then reduce the heat to low and simmer covered, stirring occasionally until the potatoes are tender and most of the liquid is absorbed, 25 to 30 minutes.
- Off heat, add remaining butter to pot and mash the potatoes until smooth. Fold in the remaining milk until the liquid is absorbed and the potatoes are creamy. Enjoy.
