- In a mixing bowl add flour, salt, ghee or oil and required water. Knead well to make a loose dough. Add 2 tbsp oil over it and keep aside for minimum 2 - 3 hrs.
- While the dough is resting, make the stuffing. Boil, cool, clean and mash the sweet potatoes.
- To the mashed potatoes, add sugar, coconut, cardamom powder and mix well.
- To make the poli
- Divide dough lemon sized balls and roll out to form a thick disc. Then place1 tbsp of stuffing and close to form a ball.
- Then roll out into a round flat disc. Heat a tawa and fry the poli till cooked on both sides.
- Now you can enjoy your poli.
