The ingredients needed to make Mama's Lasagna:
  1. Get 1 pd hamburger
  2. Prepare 1 medium onion, chopped
  3. Get 2-5 cloves chopped garlic(depending on how much you like)
  4. Prepare 2-28 oz cans diced or crushed tomatoes
  5. Get 2-8 oz cans tomato sauce
  6. Make ready 3 Tbsp parsley
  7. Make ready 1 1/2 tsp sugar
  8. Prepare 1 1/2 tsp basil
  9. Prepare 1 tsp salt
  10. Prepare half box lasagna noodles
  11. Get 16 oz cottage cheese
  12. Get 1/4 C Parmesan cheese
  13. Prepare 1 Tbsp parsley
  14. Take 1 1/2 tsp salt
  15. Make ready 1 1/2 tsp oregano
  16. Prepare 2 C mozzarella
  17. Get 1/4 C Parmesan

Cook lasagna noodles according to package directions, drain and cut to fit pan. Our recipe is for a basic lasagna featuring tomato sauce, ground beef, pasta and cheese. Although lasagna is typically a bit more complicated to make as compared to some other dishes, it is well worth. This recipe started with my Mama Rosa and now I make it too.

Steps to make Mama's Lasagna:
  1. In a large pot cook hamburger and onion, adding garlic at the end.
  2. When hamburger is done add cans of tomatoes, tomato sauce, parsley, sugar, basil and salt and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for one hour.
  3. Cook lasagna noodles
  4. Preheat oven to 350°
  5. In a medium bowl mix cottage cheese, 1/4 C Parmesan, 1 Tbsp parsley, 1 1/2 tsp each salt and oregano.
  6. Assemble lasagna by adding a little sauce to the bottom of a baking dish followed by layering noodles, sauce, cottage cheese mix and mozzarella cheese a couple times. Top with sauce and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake uncovered for 45 minutes.

Since it's Mother's day on Sunday I made her lasagna. I'm a busy mama, I need quick lunches. In order for me to stay on plan I need something that is easy.
